O2 Artisans’ Aggregate is an experimental network of individual artisans based out of a collective community work space in West Oakland. In practicing traditional crafts, re-imagining lost crafts, and developing new processes, we are preserving the spirits of both pre- and post-industrial craftsmanship, through innovative and socially useful production. In an effort to reduce and recycle industrial “waste”, our goal is to utilize both new material and “waste” material to create finished products, with all by-products to be utilized on site.
Comprised of a network of professional artisans, O2AA is a for-profit establishment that connects local makers. Organized by the founder of Joinery Structures, Paul Discoe, the Aggregate is comprised of independent tenants who practice interactive and sustainable methods by sharing spaces, resources, tools and machinery.
